Recognition Dr. Seung Il Na, Professor and Chair, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, receives the 2009 CFAES International Alumni Award, with Dr. Birkenholz. Richard Moore was awarded the 2008 Friend of Conservation Award by the Holmes County Soil and Water Conservation District, November 2008. Moore and his OSU team have helped the district write watershed plans and gather data. He also helped establish the Alpine Nutrient Trading Program, which provided cost-share incentives to farmers in the Sugar Creek watershed to install conservation practices, keeping phosphorus and other nutrients out of the stream. Shoshanah Inwood has won the 2008 SARE (Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education) New Voices Contest SARE award. For more information, click here. M. Susie Whittington received OSU's 2008 Outstanding Student Organization Advisor Award for her service to the Agricultural Education Society. Patrick Nolan and Judith Poth, Agricultural Education majors, received OSU's 2008 Outstanding Senior Award. M. Susie Whittington received the Josephine Failer Award from the OSU Alumni Association on November 9, 2007. The award is presented to alumni who have performed exemplary volunteer service to enhance the quality of life for students. Linda Lobao received the FAES Price Advising Award on September 24, 2007, for outstanding service to her advisees and also for her perseverence and dedication in preparing graduate student fellowship applications that garnered nine university and OARDC fellowships for Rural Sociology graduate students this year. M. Susie Whittington received the Distinguished Teaching Award at the North Central American Association for Agricultural Education meeting in September, 2007. Linda Lobao will be honored as a 2007 AAAS Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
